Forgive And Forget
Forgive and Forget is a project that explores the complex and non-linear nature of memory, forgiveness, and emotional relationships. The work began as a series of individually created frames in which the words “forgive” and “forget” continuously shift and transform. These frames were then assembled into a moving animation and video creating a visual rhythm that reflects how forgiveness and forgetting are rarely straightforward processes but rather ongoing cycles of reflection, change, and repetition. Alongside the digital work, I printed the frames and photographed them within everyday domestic spaces particularly in the kitchen where reminders, notes, and lists often become part of daily life. By placing the work in these familiar settings I wanted to highlight how such emotional negotiations are woven into ordinary experiences and relationships. Inspired by my own family and emotional perspectives, the project serves as a personal homage while also speaking to universal experiences of love, conflict, memory, and reconciliation. The animation was additionally presented as a video projection extending the work into digital space and emphasising the continuous movement between remembering and letting go.
